BIOGRAPHY OF HAFIZ NAWAB ALI - THE FOUNDER OF JAMIA RASHEEDIYA
Hafiz Nawab Ali, the visionary founder of Jamia Rasheediya, is a shining example of dedication, perseverance, and service to the community. His journey from a humble background to becoming an educational reformer is one that continues to inspire thousands.
Born in a small village, Hafiz Nawab Ali harbored a dream much larger than his circumstances. With no wealth or worldly support, he moved from his village to the bustling areas of Loni and Delhi NCR, driven by a desire to do something meaningful for his people. Life in the city was not easy. In the early days, he took on any work he could find to survive—stitching clothes, selling paans, performing Imamat at local mosques, and even giving private tuitions in exchange for meals. But none of these struggles weakened his spirit. If anything, they only strengthened his resolve.
Despite facing personal hardships, Hafiz Nawab Ali remained deeply concerned about the state of his community. He observed two major problems that troubled his heart:
Girls from Islamic families had to travel far for education, often to places that were not safe or culturally aligned with their values.
Children of the Muslim community were being torn between two extremes—those who attended secular schools were missing out on Islamic teachings, and those who went to madrasas were being left behind in modern education.
He realized that there needed to be a balance—a place where both Islamic and modern education could coexist, providing a safe, nurturing environment for all, especially for girls and underprivileged children.
In 1999, Hafiz Nawab Ali laid the humble foundation of what would become Jamia Rasheediya. With no building, no funding, and no staff, he began teaching a few children free of cost, determined to plant the seeds of knowledge and faith. He personally taught the children, acting as both teacher and caretaker, until the number of students grew beyond his ability to manage alone.
As the mission gained momentum, the community began to notice. Slowly, supporters came forward, and teachers joined his cause. Over the years, this one-man effort evolved into a full-fledged institution that now stands tall as a beacon of integrated education, offering both Islamic and modern academic learning.
Today, 25 years later, Jamia Rasheediya serves thousands of students, providing quality education at higher levels, without compromising on Islamic values. It has become a trusted center for learning, especially for families who once had no safe or suitable options for their children's education.
Hafiz Nawab Ali’s life is a testament to what unwavering faith, hard work, and a clear vision can achieve. He did not wait for ideal conditions—he created them. With no riches, no fame, and no powerful connections, he built something that generations will benefit from. His tireless efforts have not only changed the lives of his students but also uplifted an entire community.
